Simon Cowell isn’t the nicest guy or at least that’s how I perceive him when watching him on the ‘X Factor.’ He just tells the contestants like it is and doesn’t think twice about hurting someones feelings. Maybe his ‘too honest’ personality also plays a part in his relationship turmoil. Simon got engaged last year to girlfriend Mezhgan Hussainy, but now it seems the wedding is off. The couple is calling it a break and not a split, but come on!
In an interview Sunday with the British newspaper the Daily Mirror, Cowell says the estranged couple hasn’t seen each other since just before Christmas, when they only met briefly.
“It’s quite a complicated relationship. We have had a break from each other, and we are still incredibly close. I’m vulnerable. It’s not on, it’s not off, it’s somewhere in the middle. I don’t know if I will ever get married, but I am happy.”
The outspoken Cowell also says he regrets gushing about Mezhgan to CNN’s Piers Morgan and calling her ‘The One,’ but now is backtracking on the statement claiming to have just gotten “caught up in the moment.” Ouch. The omens don’t look good for Hussainy though, who met Cowell when doing his make up on the 2003 series of ‘American Idol‘ and started dating him in 2009. She’s believed to have moved out of his L.A. mansion and into another home nearby, the place that friends of his notoriously call the “girlfriends graveyard” after one of his ex’s Terri Seymour stayed there following their split in 2008. Cowell admitted that he does help his ex girlfriends financially, stating “I don’t pay them off, but if you have been with someone long enough, there is a responsibility. You can’t say one minute you can live this type of life and then the light goes off.”
I guess that’s why celebrities should really keep their personal lives under wraps. Yikes!
